I m out early for internet surfing. I feel that being in the cafe is the best for surfing.

Today, I m in Calanthe Art Cafe, Malaysia 13 States' Coffees.

While I was surfing and waiting for the cafe to be prepared for the day's operation, one of the staff served me a glass of water before taking my order.

Finally, I took coffee today! Melaka State Coffee!

Suddenly, Daniel said that he has just set up his own blog. I was happy to hear that!

Here is the Calanthe new developed blog by Daniel, take a look.

kabhi kushi kabhie gham

There was once, I remembered when I was attending my company's 1 day course, the speaker talked about this : " kabhi kushi kabhie gham "

meaning :

"sometimes happy, somtimes sad"

that's life!!!

sometimes we are at the top of the world (UP) and sometimes we are depressed. (DOWN)

say it again,
"kabhi kushi kabhie gham"

It is a title of one of the famous Hindi Movie.

Yes, please be careful of your speech. Especially things that you say to yourself.

Be careful for whatever you say!
Be careful what you wish for

forgive & forget

Everyone is usually dressed out in their traditional Baju Melayu for men and for the women, Baju Kurung, is the prefered choice.

Hari Raya is also a time to forgive and forget past quarrels. The younger members of a family approach their elders (parents, grandparents etc) to seek forgiveness, to "salam" (Muslim equivalent of a handshake), then kiss the hands of the older person as a sign of respect.

The usual greeting with a handshake "salam" during Aidilfitri is “Selamat Hari Raya”, which means “Wishing you a joyous Hari Raya”.

Selamat Hari Raya!

Today we are celebrating one of Malaysia Festival!
marking the end of Muslim month of Fasting or "Puasa".

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all :
Saya ingin mengambil kesempatan ini untuk mengucapkan kepada semua:

"Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri"

Anyone having open-house?

What do you normally expect during Raya home visits?

You must taste all the delicious Malay Traditional delicacies or specialities like : the Ketupat, Rendang, Satay, Sambal Ikan Bilis, Lontong, Ayam Masak Merah, Lemang, Curry Chicken, Mutton, Beef, Roti Jala, and many more.

Not to forget the cookies, or "kuih-muih" like : dodol is a must!, kuih tat (pineapple tarts), kuih baulu, just to name a few.
Simply delicious!

A very joyous occasion to see all the family members come home to their elders. They called it : Balik Kampung! Its indeed a peaceful feeling in the Kampung, an escape from the busy city life to celebrate a wonderful Raya Festival.
