Designed to symbolize the four of China's most popular animals - the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow - and the Olympic Flame.
Beibei is the Fish (Blue), Jingjing is the Panda (Black), Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame (Red), Yingying is the Tibetan Antelope (Orange) and Nini is the Swallow (Green).
When you put their names together -- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni -- they say "Welcome to Beijing," offering a warm invitation to all for the Olympic Games.
Beijing have been doing preparations all the while until today! The time has come for the competition! All the athletes have done their part to prepare themselves. They have gone through intense training and mental preparation to do their best in the games.
Of course, in every game, there will be a winner and a loser. After each competition, what can be seen is that, the loser will either shake hands or hug to congratulate the winner. And I guess the winner will reply either thank you, try again next time, good job, or just a smile.
That's what we call it the human spirit, the spirit of sportsmanship. "One World, One Dream"
